Log for Life, a diabetes logging applicaton, releases beta
Since March of this year we've had a team of two working on a new product that we're hoping will revolutionize the way that people manage diabetes. And, we're proud to now introduce Log for Life, the newest Gnoso product.

Log for Life is a web-based diabetes log book, and while there are quite a few out there, we feel that ours is special. We started development with an attitude that a web-based logbook shouldn't make life more complicated. We didn't want to require users to be at the computer to log, so we put an emphasis on users being able to enter their numbers by text message, email, and on the iPhone.
We also felt like there were enough crummy looking diabetes interfaces out there already, so ours had to be different. All of those black and white glucometer screens or bland looking Windows applications to review glucometer data had to stop. In Log for Life, your log features a beautiful graph and great visual effects. When you add an entry, the entry appears instantly in your log, and the entry fades into the graph on every page.
Beauty wasn't enough, though. Entering your numbers is easier than ever. Our research found that people very seldom log only one detail at a time. They log that they ate and then checked their glucose, or they checked their glucose and then took some insulin. Our entry form lets you enter your glucose, medication, carb intake, and exercise at the same time, minimizing the hassle.
From a business and engineering standpoint, Log for Life embodies what Gnoso is about. We feel that the product has imagination, function, and beauty. We developed it with a team of two over three months, keeping hierarchy and strict procedure at bay, in favor of creativity, speed, and satisfaction in the work we were doing. The code is 100% covered, the tests were almost all written before the code, and the development iterations were extremely short.
These are just a few of the reasons that we're so proud of Log for Life. We'll be launching later this Summer, so expect more information as the launch approaches.
